MONROE, La.-ULM baseball head
coach Jeff Schexnaider has announced the dates for this winter's baseball camps
to be held at Warhawk Field.
"Our
winter camps are a great way for players to get a jump start on their upcoming
season," Schexnaider said. "The camps also allow the players to showcase their
abilities in front of our entire staff, which gives us an opportunity to see what kind of
person and player they are."
Schexnaider, the 2008 Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year, has
assembled an all-star camp staff featuring current ULM coaches and players.
The staff will conduct hitting camps on Dec. 11, Jan. 18 and Feb. 15 for
players in kindergarten through eighth grade. Schexnaider will work hands on with the campers in every facet of hitting
development.
High school players (9th-12th grade) have a camp
session specially designed to create a more intense baseball environment on
Dec. 18-19. Campers will have the option to commute to Warhawk Field each day
or stay overnight in Monroe.
Participants will receive two days of elite profession instruction in
proper throwing mechanics, base running, batting, infield and outfield defense
and bunting. The camp will also give the participants an opportunity to play live
games.
