The Warhawks took down Northwestern State 8-3 before
matching its eight-run performance with an 8-2 defeat of Southern. ULM improves
to 11-7 overall to close out tournament play this season.

Haley McCall went 2-for-3 with one run and two RBIs and Karli Wainwright was
2-for-4 with one run. Roxy Cassel plated a game-best two runs while Miyuki
Navarrete provided two RBIs.

With the score deadlocked after three innings, the Warhawks added
a pair of runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take a 4-2 lead. A sacrifice bunt
by Navarrete plated Miller on a successful squeeze play, followed by Cassel who
scored from second on McCall's single to center field.
ULM piled on the runs in the final inning beginning with
back-to-back RBI singles by Cacioppo and Salanoa. A ground out by Boening moved
Salanoa and Cassel, who got on with a single, into scoring position when an
error by the Demons allowed both to go home.
Northwestern State (7-13) scored all three of its runs off
home runs. Tara McKenney singled to lead off the game followed by a Cassandra
Barefield bomb to clear the bases. Brianna Rodriguez added a solo homer in the

inning, McCall walking and stealing second before a Wainwright single put
runners on the corners. Navarrete laid down another sacrifice bunt to plate
McCall and back-to-back wild pitches sent Wainright home to even the

Navarrete was on fire in ULM's second game of the day, going 3-for-4 with three
runs, three RBIs, a double and home run. Cacioppo went 2-for-4 to score two
runs and Wainwright also crossed home plate twice.
Stephanie Routzon (3-4) picked up her third win of the
season, tossing 5.0 innings and allowed four hits and two earned runs. Jessica
Chastka threw the final 2.0 innings and gave up nothing while striking out
The Warhawks started hot as Wainwright led off with her
first triple of the season, Navarrete following with an RBI single and stole second.
Cacioppo and Salanoa each hit singles to plate two runners from second base, and
Salanoa stole third before scoring on a ground out to take an early 4-0 lead.
The Warhawks continued the trend of only giving up runs on
out-of-the-park balls on Sunday, as Southern's (3-10) two runs of the game came
off a two-run homer by Kiah Williams in the bottom of the inning.
Pastor pushed another run across home plate in the third
inning when she singled to score Cacioppo. ULM added two more runs an inning
later, Navarrete nailing a double to send home Wainright and reached third on
the throw before scoring on a passed ball.
Navarrete extended ULM's lead to 8-2 in the sixth inning
when she hit her first home run of the season, a shot over the left field wall.
Four Jaguars managed a hit on the day, Williams going
1-for-2 with one run and two RBIs. Kendyl Stevenson went the distance in the
circle, giving up 12 hits and six earned runs with three strikeouts.
ULM returns home after three weeks on the road for the first
game in a home-and-home series with Stephen F. Austin Wednesday at 5 p.m.
